Why recycled tyres?
"Globally over 300 billion tyres are produced each year. Representing around 43 times the global population. Tyres aren’t biodegradable, so once used, they head to landfill, their chemical compounds leading to soil pollution as well as air pollution when burnt.
In Europe, more than 6 tires are discarded each second. That is 200 million units per year - taking 400 years for a single tyre to start decomposing naturally."
